We started reading her first chapter book together. Perfect timing, too, because
we've had buckets of snow, just like Laura in "Little House in the Big Woods."
Ryland's feet are the same size as mine.
Ryland, Caden, and I (pictured here in this staged photo taken by Rheanna) earned our blue belts in TaeKwonDo. Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyyyyyyyyah. We all successfully broke our boards with rear leg jump side-kicks - This is a common kick to see in the movies. We also mastered 5 self-defences to side arm-grabs, and three more punch defences, and our poomsae, which is a performance of set techniques... or, rather, fighting an imaginary foe.

Lastly, (and for good reason) I have entered the era of "old lady pill boxes" and "liquid breakfasts." Sigh. I wasn't going to blog this, but I would be mad at you all for not telling me. So, for the last couple of years I have been going to dr.s trying to find out why I was so tired and depressed. It was dismissed as "seasonal affective disorder" and "having four kids and a husband." This summer I awoke to a perfectly good sunny day and thought "uggh, I'm still here." and decided I'd better find another dr. And so, I was diagnosed with hashimotos disease. (not in any way caused by taking martial arts) http://www.4woman.gov/faq/hashimoto-thyroiditis.cfm My over-stimulated immune system has been attacking and killing my thyroid. To help calm my immune system, I am continuing my allergy shots (grass, cats and dogs), and not eating eggs (very allergic) and dairy (mildly allergic). What do you eat for breakfast if you can't eat eggs or dairy and want protein? If you say "a chicken breast, silly goose", I will peck your eye out. I found an egg free/dairy free rice protein shake, and thus the liquid breakfast. I am taking thyroid medication and am feeling better although I still tire easily. In the end, my body will probably destroy my thyroid. The worst part of the entire thing was feeling "dead" on the inside. Every emotion I felt was "bigger" somehow, except feelings of joy or "well-being". and now, I expect loads of sympathy cards. ha. Interestingly, this disease is related to type 1 diabetes....
Here's to a better 2009! Happy New Years.
'til next post. ei

Thanks for sharing... it's tough finding different things to eat when you have to cut major things like eggs and milk. We've been going through this with our daughter, Heather. She was having problems with acid reflux and excema. We found out she is wheat and dairy-intolerant. It is hard to make the family happy when you're not able to use dairy and wheat. Wheat is in EVERYTHING! But, we're learning to cope. Hope you are feeling better.
Wow
I hate when we are RX due to being a mom and wife or where we live.
I have my upper GI on Thursay.
After 2 er visits and an abulance ride I hope they fine "something" so it's just not "all that stress" you have been under. So glad it hasn't taken your humor away.
E me your new address, Ei
I'll write to ya!

Yes, dietary changes are hard! I'm with you on the desire for a protein breakfast! I'm glad you've found a good rice protein shake. I was using one for a while pre-pregnancy, but can't say I enjoyed it. Most important, I hope this all helps you feel a tremendous amount better!
congrats on your award Ei. Come to my site to see.

So glad to see the up dated blog. I hope you are surviving the liquid breakfasts. As you know I rather enjoy them each day myself sometimes more than once if I just don't want to think of what to eat. But I do embellish them a bit. I have found the duck eggs to be working quite good for me, maybe you should try them. They are a bit spendy but NO one is allowed to use them but me (as if they would want to!)
