Hey happy readers. I suppose you've been wondering where we've been. I will have to periodically post our exciting summer outings this dreary winter. For now we are rapidly approaching the start of school (Tuesday) and plan on going to the zoo tomorrow and some last minute school shopping.
I suppose I should now address the husband dumping. Brian recently joined Search and Rescue. I'm assuming you all know what this group does. Now, for the insides scoop. While this group does have serious assignments when someone goes missing or a body needs retrieving, SAR is basically boy scouts for grown ups. They meet to practice emergency drills, start fires with virtually nothing, and learn about surviving in general, with hearty doses of repelling and geo-caching.
and then... they practice these skills. Today around three-thirty we dumped Brian and Caden off on a distant logging road, each packing a knife, jackets, water, preservative laden hot dogs, gum, first aide kit, emergency blankets, a tarp, and a flint. I hear you all clamoring, "Where do I sign up to be dropped off in the back forty to fend for myself, stave off frost bite, bears, and poison ivy." This my friend is free. It only required an imbalanced mental state...
take the "will they make it" poll!
'til next post... ei

did the kids draw straws to see which one had to go with Brian? Looks like Caden lost!!
