Dickeybirds "Trashiest" in town

The weather co-operated for our town clean-up (April 26Th, Yes, I'm very behind), and we grabbed garbage pickers and headed to town. We picked up our road, a park-and-ride, two parks and won the title of "Trashiest Team" by hauling in the most junk... including the kitchen sink. This years haul was made very interesting because of last Decembers wild storm. The kids had a blast using the "garbage picker things" (Brian insists this is the technical term) although Brian had to be reminded that they were "garbage picker things" and not "extend-a-reach spouse pincher's". Most of the trash is cans/cups/bottles and food packaging, although we found an unopened pop and a deflated batman.

Corrections and Errors: Holmquist should be spelled "Holmquist" and not "Holquist". We apologize for any suffering this mindless error has caused. We would fire our editor but she is also the cook, maid, child care specialist, chauffeur, laundress, hairdresser, home interior decorator, landscaper and gardener.

Wonderful!! What great examples.. and do you know that kids who volunteer have fewer discipline problems, better grades, and are less likely to abuse drugs, alcohol or cigarettes than their more self-centered peers!! I just read that in a newspaper article.

Sounds like alot of family fun. Not many famlies would get together and do something like "pick up trash" MOM
