Brian has a new schedule at work, that "in theory" gives him every other Monday off. This has worked out exactly once because it seems court dates and school inspections are scheduled on Mondays. I was happy to see him spend his day off building violet green tree swallow nest boxes. Brian will forever be a biologist.

On a colder note... I have realized the burden of responsibility concerning our lingering winter weather rests entirely on my shoulders. Patty Smith (ever so talented) has taken on the daunting task of teaching me to knit. As my fall started scarf project still isn't done, winter has delayed in leaving. Not, mind you, to give me the
satisfaction of warming my neck with a hand made scarf, but to
cruelly whisk away right on the day the scarf is completed so I'd have to wait until next winter to use it. I promise to finish so we'll have a summer!! I am also attempting to make socks!!

Ry participated in the young authors conference this year. He did a great job writing and illustrating his book. We found lots of resources online on how to bind your own hard back book, so we did! It turned out great! Ry was even interviewed for the Aberdeen Daily world, where they quoted him. ("It's fun." Dickey said.) Book jacket reads: "If you are looking for a romantic story in which a
valiant knight slays a fierce dragon for the love of a princess, then I suggest you find another book. (Perhaps my sisters book) There isn't a single princess, beautiful or otherwise, but you will find fierce dragons, slashing swords, warring kingdom's, and bravery."

'til next post, ei
