Sunny Thoughts and Warm Hugs

Thanks for all the Sunny thoughts and warm hugs sent our way. The Dickeybirds have survived without a single frostbit digit. I learned two things. First, things can always get worse. Before the second unsuccessful repairman, we were able to eek out enough hot water for some dishes or bathing a small child. After the second repairman we had nothing, and my previous groans and moans about only a sinkful of hot water now seemed ungrateful. You can do many things with a sinkful of water. Secondly, I learned not to cook buttery/cheesy meals. Buttery/cheesy plates and pots just do not get clean, not to mention a messy sink, and stove top hot water doesn't go very far. Stick to the basics. The third repairman was able to fix our heater. He never did exactly identify the problem so he just replaced all the guts. I wonder, will all the unsuccessful repairmen still send a bill?

Last weekend, or was it the weekend before last? Anyway, we headed to the big city for some fun while Brian attended his continuing education conference. Let me tell you, an entire hotel filled with men that design, install, or inspect septics is entertaining in its self. There are entire sets of jokes just for septics and sewers and such. While Brian was off learning (more jokes) we were enjoying the pool and the hot water and heat! Ahhhhh. We spent most of our time swimming. At dinner time, we met up with some of our convention friends, Tara and Daryl. Their twins are the same age as Rheanna and they just love to be together. Our hotel room overlooked the bob cats and other "delightful" equipment.Brian had never told us of the exciting "contests" these men have yearly. They have races, and scoop balls up with spoons, and play golf with these machines, and my boys were enthralled! On Saturday we had the weirdest weather, it was freezing and
raining so that everything iced over. The roads and side walks had become big sheets of ice. The kids and I tried to walk around the park but the icy conditions and biting wind drove us away. We spent the afternoon in a bookstore instead. It is fun to watch the kids in the big city.
'til next post,
ei

What an exciting life you have(hee hee)! I found your blog through Wanda's. I've met you before, but you may not remember us. You can check out our blog, but I'm warning you I'm new at this and it's not very exciting so far!

I like how you take a miserable situation and make it into something fun. We need humor to keep us going sometimes. Now, with teenage girls I need lots of humor! I think Sue & Doug introduced us once at convention a long time ago when they were living down near you. My mom and dad are good friends of theirs from P.T.
